How To Check For Software Updates On Google Pixel Phone?
Checking for software updates on your Pixel phone is a straightforward process. Here’s how to do it:
- Connect to Wi-Fi
Ensure that your Pixel phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network. While you can check for updates over a cellular data connection, it’s recommended to use Wi-Fi to avoid excessive data usage.
- Open Settings
Open the “Settings” app on your Pixel phone. You can usually find it in the app drawer or swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll to the Bottom
Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings menu and tap on “System.”
- Select “Software Update”
In the System menu, tap on “Software update.” This will take you to the software update section.
- Check for Updates
Tap on “Check for update.” Your Pixel phone will now contact Google’s servers to see if there are any available updates.
- Download and Install Updates
If an update is available, your phone will display information about it, such as the size of the update and what’s included. Tap “Download and install” to start the update process.
- Install the Update
After the download is complete, tap “Install.” Your phone will restart, and the update will be installed.
- Complete the Update
Once the update is installed, your phone will boot up as usual. It might take a few minutes for the update to complete.
- Check for Updates Again (Optional)
It’s a good practice to check for updates once more after installing the latest one to ensure you’re on the most up-to-date software version.
- Stay Connected to Wi-Fi During Updates
While the update is downloading and installing, make sure your phone remains connected to Wi-Fi and has sufficient battery life to complete the process.
Google Pixel phones typically receive prompt updates directly from Google. However, the availability of updates can depend on your phone’s model, your carrier, and your location. If there’s an update available for your device, it’s recommended to install it to benefit from the latest features, bug fixes, and security improvements.
